Nylon Breakaway Switch with Weldable Tab

This Nylon Breakaway Switch with Weldable Tab automatically sets your trailer brakes in case of accidental trailer breakaway. Inside, an inserted nylon pin separates two electrical contacts and connects to your tow vehicle via a braided steel cable. If your trailer coupler separates from your vehicle’s ball hitch, the pin pulls free.

As a result, the two unobstructed contacts send a signal through your switch wiring that immediately activates your trailer’s brakes. This helps you stop safely, protecting yourself and the drivers around you.

Along with the pin and cable, this completely sealed switch features a reinforced nylon case and a rust- and corrosion-free weldable metal tab. It attaches securely to one-, two-, or three-axle trailers. 

Requires a dedicated 12V sealed lead-acid trailer battery. Junction box recommended for wiring.
