This Breakaway Switch Cable with Nylon Pin Assembly serves as a replacement part for our Nylon Trailer Breakaway Switch (sold separately).

Together, they make your trailer haul safer by activating your brakes immediately after your tow vehicle and trailer accidentally separate.

Specifically, its pin section fits into the switch body, where it separates two interior electrical contacts. Next, the pin connects to your tow vehicle via a 48 inch-long steel lanyard.

By design, the cable tightens and pulls the pin the instant your trailer detaches from your vehicle. Then, the unobstructed contacts join to send a signal that engages your brakes.
